Maddie Clark

SENIOR DESIGNER
Maddie Clark is a Senior Designer at PORT, where she leads design efforts on landscape and public realm projects across the country. Her approach combines research and participatory design strategies to execute projects that renew social and ecological relationships and transform public life. She is currently dedicated to guiding iterative design processes at all scales, ranging from visioning to construction detailing.
Before joining PORT, Maddie worked as a Project Landscape Architect at Design Workshop in Chicago, where she developed downtown plans and park master plans. Her portfolio includes a diversity of projects in Chicago such as the Alton Great Streets, the University of Illinois Campus Landscape Master Plan, and the Chicago AIDS Garden. Maddie has experience in all phases of project development including research and analysis, public engagement, conceptual and schematic design, and construction documentation.
Maddie holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Ball State University, where she was recognized as a National Olmsted Scholar Undergraduate Finalist and received an ASLA Honor Award. Her work on the Alton Great Streets earned the Illinois ASLA Burnham Award for Planning and Analysis.
