SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Anna Darling is an Associate Landscape Architect at PORT in Philadelphia. Her work focuses on creating “hyper-beautiful” landscapes that harmonize with their surroundings while fostering ecological health and community engagement. With a deep-rooted passion for environmental stewardship, Anna’s designs reflect a commitment to co-creating meaningful public spaces with the communities they serve. As a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, she brings specialized expertise in designing innovative play environments that balance creativity, safety, and ecological sustainability.

Anna’s professional journey began in architecture before evolving into landscape architecture, driven by her fascination with ecological systems and public service. She has worked with AmeriCorps on Habitat for Humanity projects across diverse New York City neighborhoods and developed enriching afterschool programs in St. Louis. These experiences reinforced her belief in the power of design to drive positive social and environmental change.

Anna holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania, where she received the Faculty Medal for Leadership and an ASLA Merit Award. She also earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, where she conducted environmental research at the Tyson Research Center. Her dedication to advancing equitable engagement in design is reflected in her teaching experience, including co-teaching a "Design Listening" studio at the University of Pennsylvania, and  Boston Architectural College.
