Brandon Biederman is an Associate Principal Architect at PORT, bringing over 15 years of experience managing complex public realm projects. He leads the design and implementation of urban corridors, plazas, and public spaces, focusing on transforming everyday environments into dynamic, people-centered places. His work infuses playfulness and joy into urban design through creative approaches to urban furniture and streetscapes.
Brandon’s professional journey began at Perkins and Will, where he managed multidisciplinary teams on high-profile architectural projects, including the Chicago Spire. Since becoming one of PORT’s earliest team members, Brandon has played a central role in shaping the firm’s design ethos and operational growth. Brandon specializes in designing vibrant public spaces, integrating his background in art and a fascination with industrial and mechanical design elements.
Brandon holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Design Criticism from the same institution. His technical expertise, combined with a narrative-driven design approach, has earned him recognition in architectural and urban design competitions. His work consistently prioritizes accessibility, community engagement, and the creation of memorable urban experiences.
